Calisthenics is a discipline based on the use of body weight to train strength, control, and mobility. At Redfield T&F, we incorporate it as a fundamental part of our functional approach because we believe that learning to move your body is just as important as lifting weights.
Where to start?
Many people think that calisthenics is only for those who already have strength or agility. But in reality, it’s completely scalable. We start with basic progressions to:
- Strengthen your core and upper body.
- Improve posture and body awareness.
- Master movements like push-ups, pull-ups, dips, and hollow holds.
Advance at your own pace
Once you have the foundation, you can move on to more complex challenges: muscle-ups, handstands, L-sits, and front levers. The key is progression: no one is born doing pull-ups, but we can all get there if we train with intention and guidance.
In addition to strength, calisthenics gives you coordination, balance, mobility, and neuromuscular control. It’s a complete way of training that doesn’t require machines or expensive equipment. Just your body… and a lot of desire.
Do you want to discover what you’re capable of with your own body weight? At Redfield T&F, we guide you step by step so you can learn, progress, and enjoy every step of the way.
